About Me
My Approach: Expert Care with Warmth & Understanding
I’m Andrea Chamberlain, IBCLC, a Seattle-based lactation consultant with a background in midwifery and perinatal care. I provide personalized, judgment-free support for families navigating lactation and infant feeding and all the challenges in between.
I know that every family’s feeding journey is unique—what works for one parent and baby may not work for another. That’s why I take a compassionate, adaptable approach, meeting you where you are and helping you reach your personal feeding goals.
With extensive experience in low milk supply, oversupply, latch issues, oral function concerns, breastfeeding challenges, bottle refusal, pumping strategies, and more, I help families feel empowered and informed while ensuring that feeding works for both baby and family.

My Story: Why I Became an IBCLC
My journey into lactation support began with my training as a midwife, where I witnessed firsthand how profoundly transformative—and complex—the perinatal experience is. Pregnancy, birth, and the transition to parenthood bring deep emotions, unexpected challenges, and countless moments of both joy and vulnerability.
But it wasn’t until I became a parent myself that I truly understood just how layered and personal this journey can be. The postpartum period, adjusting to a new identity, recovering physically and emotionally, and learning to care for a baby—it’s an immense shift. Feeding and lactation are just part of a much bigger picture, and I know firsthand how much support, reassurance, and community can make all the difference during this time.
After having my second child, I stepped away from midwifery to focus on a more sustainable career that still allowed me to support families in meaningful ways. I faced my own struggles with the postpartum transition and breastfeeding, and I know how overwhelming it can feel when things don’t go as planned.
I firmly believe that my own positive, fulfilling experience with extended breastfeeding would not have been possible without the incredible support I received. That’s why I’m so passionate about providing that same compassionate, judgment-free care—so families can make informed, confident feeding decisions that work for their unique situation.
I am honored to support all families, in all forms—whether you’re a first-time parent, navigating feeding after surgery, inducing lactation for adoption or surrogacy, or balancing breastfeeding and work. No matter your journey, I’m here to provide expert guidance and unwavering support every step of the way.
You don’t have to navigate this alone—let’s find what works for you.
